Hello, my name is Madison! I'm currently a teacher, but more importantly I am an aspiring front-end developer.
I have always loved technology from upgrading my own gaming PC to always checking out the newest software and trends in tech - and now I am ready to start a career in the industry. After spending a few years in the classroom I dove head first into learning HTML, CSS, and JavaScript which is what I have dedicated much of my time to this past year. The challenge of problem solving and finding my own way has been extremely rewarding and allowed me to grow immensely.
In my past professional experience I have always been a go-getter, (don't mind the cliche!). My work for my school, district, and as a freelance writer speaks for itself: I work extremely hard and succeed whenever I put my mind to something. What excites me most about transitioning into Web Development is the ability to learn every day, grow as a developer, and contribute to an innovative organization.
Outside of work I can be found balancing staying active with a healthy amount of PC gaming, as well as writing anything from non-fiction to JavaScript code. Click below for more information about my skills.
YelpCamp is a CRUD app and a responsive version of Yelp that is specific to campgrounds. This required me to try out and learn tons of different tools: Node, Express, MongoDB, Mapbox, Helmet, Cloudinary, Passport, Bootstrap, and many more. It was a huge undertaking and I am happy with how it turned out!
View on GitHubWelcome to my portfolio website! This website was created using HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and JavaScript. The website is responsive to tablet and mobile layouts. My favorite part of this project was experimenting with the different options provided by Bootstrap, even though at times there was a bit of a learning curve.
View on GitHubIn this project I made a modern, responsive website that showcases gaming. The goal of this site was to get really familiar with all the possibilities when using HTML and CSS, and was my first time using Bootstrap. There is also one small use of JavaScript that gives the navbar an extra feature when scrolling.
